I am glad of the opportunity
that God and the William Carey Baptist Association have given
me to serve as your interim
Director of Missions. I want to become acquainted or reacquainted
with as many people as possible during the time I will be serving.
Please stop by the office Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday Mornings and
we can chat some. Additionally, I will be visiting in the churches as
time permits. I will be available for pulpit supply beginning August
1. If I can be of assistance to you or your church, please contact me
at the office 931-433-3631, my home 256-517-5375, or my cell 256-684-4859.
Monday, August 12 will be an
important opportunity for Sunday School leaders in your church to
receive training. The event will be conducted at first baptist
Church, Tullahoma. The time is 6:45 pm until 8:45 pm. There will be
age group conferences for the inexperienced and experienced teachers.
There will also be special conference for the pastors and Sunday
School Directors. This event is sponsored by the Tennessee Baptist
Convention at the request of the cluster of which we are a part. This
event will help you to POWERUP your Sunday School.
It is my prayer that God will
bless you and your church as you labor together for Him.
Bro. Ray
DISASTER
RELIEF TENNESSEE
As you may recall, last month
we started a new feature in our newsletter, called OUR FEATURED
TOOL OF THE MONTH.
Last month we featured an 8
foot fiberglass step ladder. The cost is around seventy or eighty
dollars! If you have any questions, please call either Ken Mitchell
or myself. We also have a number of items on the list for less than
$20.00. Why do we do this? Anytime we go out either as a Disaster
Relief or Rebuild team, we need certain tools to do the mission. As
you can see, even if you cannot go out on one of our mission trips,
there are other ways you can help.
We serve an awesome God! Our
good friends at Prospect Baptist Church donated money to purchase a
pole saw, which was our most expensive item on our tool wish list,
therefore I had decided to save it to last.
Dickie Crutcher will be at
the Brotherhood Fish Fry on July 28th to give our Disaster
Relief presentation. We will have our unit there for you to tour. If
your church has not yet requested this presentation, you may do so by
contacting Bro. Dickie, Bro. Ken Mitchell, or Jim Baird.

WMU
The WMU Annual Meeting was at
Kirkland Baptist Church at 5:30 pm on Thursday, July 17th.
We had a wonderful time of fellowship and the food was GREAT as well
as the service (the men of Kirkland were wonderful servers). Our
speaker was Jennifer Amwine from TBC spoke to us on an upcoming Sudan
mission project.
Please be thinking about how
YOU can help with the Lincoln County Fair. We will have the booth for
the week and also be serving lunch on Thursday for the fair workers.
Thank you,
Mevis Swinford

William Carey Baptist Association
Special Friends VBS
August 23, 2008
Vacation bible School 2008
has been a wonderful time in our community. I have
heard comments from most of you that this was the best VBS in years.
Seeds were planted and many decisions were made to follow Jesus. I am
thankful for what Christ has done and is continuing to do in William
Carey Baptist Association. As many of you know we are working hard to
reach out into Lincoln County through VBS 2008. William Carey is
hosting a one-day VBS for people with special needs. This is
where we need your help! There are two very important things
we need from each church:
Please take time and consider
volunteering for this special VBS. This is an outreach into our
community to help teach those special adults and children that
sometimes get overlooked. We need as many volunteers as you can get
because this event will only be a success by having a large enough
support staff available.
Here is some helpful
information about Special VBS 2008:
Please keep this Special
Friends VBS in your prayers. God has led us in this direction and my
sincere prayer is that His will is done throughout the entire event.
An enrollment form has been sent to your pastor and VBS director and
one can also be obtained at the Associational Office. Thank you so
much for your help and please feel free to call or email me with any question.
In Christ,
Alison Ramsey

No Greater Goodness Youth
Camp Report
Well, another youth camp is
in the books. We were overwhelmed at the response and attendance at
camp this year. God blessed us with 125 teenagers and 23 counselors
from 15 of our William caren churches and 2 non-denominational
churches. It has a great experience that I will never forget. God led
our speakers, Bro. Johnny Collins (Prospect), Bro Derrick Moose (Cash
Point), Bro. Vince Beyer (Kirkland) and Bro. Andrew Quaife (Taft FBC)
with great messages and even greater invitation times. Every night
there was testifying and brokenness. God showed up in a mighty way
this year by having at least 2 salvations with numerous rededications
every evening. Our "Stupid Olympics IV" was a time of
tricycles and eating ice cream right off of the ground, and our
shaving cream war was top-notch. I would like to thank the following
churches for sending counselors: Brogan Ave, Kirkland, Kelly's Creek,
Parks City, Prospect, Stewart's Capel, and Taft FBC. This camp is
extremely difficult to lead and I could not do anything without God's
guidance and His workers He provided me for this camp.
In Christ,
Jason Ramsey Youth Director WCBA
