Youth
We are busy planning the 2012 events. The first one is DNOW (Disciple Now) 2012 on February 17-18 at First Baptist Fayetteville. We are really looking forward to the worship, messages and fellowship. The theme for the event will be Purpose. Our hope is that we will be able to help our students find purpose in their everyday lives and in their relationship with Christ. I know they will be challenged with DNow, and hopefully will go out to challenge others. This year we will be led in worship by Ohio Avenue from Birmingham, AL. If you had the opportunity to see them at last year's Fish Fest, you know we will be blessed to have these young men come and lead us in worship. Our speaker will be Wes Springer, who is a member of the band and a dynamic speaker. I look forward to what God has laid on his heart, and know that he will bring us a challenge to push us into this new year.
This year we have decided to add a new twist to things. Soles4Souls will be a part of this year's event. I was introduced to this charity at Fish Fest this past year and was impressed with the heart for people that they have. I would like to ask you to challenge each of your students to bring a used pair of shoes with them this year, and we are going to give them to the representative from Soles4Souls who will be joining us that weekend.
Our goal in starting this event three years ago was to give local church youth an opportunity to experience the youth conference environment without having to travel to Gatlinburg or Gulf Shores or other places where churches have to put out a lot of money. In these difficult economic times, we know how hard it is for many churches to attend these events. We feel that this event is something that is growing and will be even bigger and better in the coming days. However, we do need your support to help continue this event and we feel that the $15 we ask per student is a small contribution when you consider the opportunity to see lives changed. Please help us to be able to continue this event, as I believe it has tremendous potential to change not only the young people who attend, but the adults as well.
I can't wait to see everyone on this weekend, and I hope all of you will be praying for what God is planning to do with this event. If you have any questions or would like to purchase tickets, please contact Mrs. Patsy at the Association office or myself. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Also remember to mark you calendars for June 25—30 for Youth Camp. Details to follow!

Youth Camp 2011

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:1-2
