Bro. Randy Maxwell
The Christmas season is my favorite time of the year. They both are centered around our awesome God.
The first holiday is set aside to remind us that all good and perfect gifts comes from above. We all have so much for which to be thankful. Often it is a time of being with family or friends, sharing a bountiful meal and spending time counting our blessings. Christmas is that time of year of sharing gifts to the new born King. It is a time of special music, singing the beautiful carols, and watching children present Christmas programs at church. It is a time of sharing with the less fortunate, making sure every boy and girl gets something special for Christmas. During this holiday season, remember it really is better to give than to receive. God gave His very best when He gave His Son to this would so we might have a Savior and Lord. When we follow His example of giving, whether it be through the various programs that give to those in financial need, to missions around the world, or to family and friends, give with a cheerful and thankful heart and God will bless you.
As we come to the end of the year in the associational office, it is that time of year when we usually have to take some of our savings out of the Tennessee Baptist Foundation (TBF). We work off such a small amount of money that it becomes very critical. As it looks now, we will be in the red at the end of December. Please don’t forget your association and its ministries and get all church and individual checks into the office by Wednesday, December 28th so it can be posted in this fiscal year.
To our William Carey Baptist Associational family, Nan and I wish for each one of you the most wonderful Christmas and the happiest of New Year’s , filled with hope and anticipation of all that God has in store for each one of us in 2012!
